We are passionate about
Financial Freedom and Financial Education!
Immigrants in a new country are usually starting out with several handicaps. Some financial, some others. We would love to help them to overcome them and realize their DREAMS in their new country. And if you happen to be born here, but not have a lot of financial education or experience, no worries, this blog will help you, too, put together the big picture.
We are passionate about helping people to realize their full potential, and to find their path to Financial Freedom (FF). Financial Freedom simply means that the passive income from one’s investments is sufficient to cover one’s living expenses. Financial Freedom is important, not because we don’t like to work and contribute to society, but because it provides FREEDOM. And more freedom is always better. It provides options to choose how to contribute to society, and how to spend our most precious ‘capital’: our time.
We believe getting there is easier than most people realizes. It only takes some financial common sense, learning some basic skills, and developing some practical habits. How do I know? I explain.
Background
Mr. SWimmigrant and his family’s path was no different than of thousands of other immigrant families. He:
- started from financial ground zero as a new immigrant;
- never had high-paying top executive jobs;
- had no financial windfall of any kind (no lottery winnings, inheritance, Silicon Valley IPO, or never funded and sold a successful business);
- lived in a single-income household;
- while his partner was raising 4 wonderful kids at home;
- also sponsoring over a dozen kids in third-world countries all over the world for over a decade;
- and making several, costly financial mistakes along the way.
Yet, he still managed to build up a multi-million Dollar net worth, and achieved the Financial Freedom most people are just dreaming about. So, no doubt, it is possible. And you get the ‘inside tour’ on this blog. We will show you, not only how we accomplished this, but also how to avoid the mistakes, and get there faster, without taking unnecessary risks and having fun in the process.
Our Goals

In today’s world, when every news outlet tries to convince us that it’s hard enough to live and raise kids even in a double-income family, and that it’s normal to live paycheck to paycheck, or carry significant debt, we need to realize what an incredibly rich country we are living in. Don’t worry about all that ‘noise’ in the News. Sometimes, for us, SWimmigrants, it’s easier to see the truth than the people born here in this lucky corner of the world (talking about the United States and Canada).
Mr. SWimmigrant will show you, how to become financially independent, while having fun in the process , and enjoying all the beauty this country has to offer. The American (and Canadian) Dream is alive and well. Thanks very much!
Sometimes the SWIM is easier; sometimes it’s harder depending on the currents of our new pond. Nevertheless keep swimming with us! It’s always easier when you are not alone. We are all New Comers and all swimming towards our Dreams. And we are going to be stronger and swimming farther then you ever imagined possible. That’s the strength of the SWimmigrant community. It’s a whole lot of fun, too!
With Love,
Mr. SWimmigrant
